2010 Pfingst Regatta Max Kastinger Memorial

First Race day in Pfingst Regatta
Today, Saturday, 05/22/2010 was the first of three days of the traditional Pfingst Regatta for Star boats. Twenty two teams including boats from Austria, Germany and the Czech Republic fought in changeable weather on the Attersee for the win. Three races were sailed in light southerlys , with Christian Nehammer / Felix Kling, Josef Urban / Andreas Steinkogler and Roberto Tomasini / Gunnar Bahr each winning a race. Josef Urban, with results of 6, 1 and 3, is now two points ahead of Christian Nehammer. For the next two days, five races are planned.

Second Race Day
No racing today as the winds from the south never reached more than three knots. In the evening was the Stegfest with free beer. Tomorrow better wind conditions are expected with four races possible.

Third and final day
With a rotating west wind the Pfingst Regatta, the Austrian Upper State Championship, was completed with three very athletic high-quality races making a total of six races for the regatta. Hans Spitzauer and Adi Luzlbauer won two of today's three races and moved up in the overall standings from seventh to first, taking the Max Kastinger Trophy and the title of national champion of Upper Austria 2010. Following were Josef Urban / Andreas Steinkogler and Spitzauer's Olympic partner Christian Nehammer with his crew Felix Kling.
