Sailed at Segel-Club Edersee e.V., Waldeck-Scheid, Germany. Sixteen crews (11 from other fleets than Edersee) took part in the Ederkogge. The three races applied as the first part of the Hessen championship, with the 2nd part in July, also to be sailed on the Edersee. The first start was on Saturday at 2 pm with a wind of just 2 Beaufort from the southwest. The regatta winners of 2003 and 2004, Frank Tusch and Sven Winkelmann from the Möhnesee fleet, won, followed by Freidrich Kleine/Arndt Renner of Edersee yacht club, Third place in the first race were Uwe Fernhola/Stefan Diestelmann of the yacht club Lister/Biggesee. Last year’s winner Uwe Hannemann of the Ruhr YC and his son Andreas took 9th place. Since the race had gotten a late start, race committee chair Björn Geisler sent the fleet in, as the weather prevented another start in the day. On Sunday, the first race was at 11 am and was won by Josef Pieper/Sören Dretzko from the Möhnesee fleet. This was sailed in a northerly of 2 Beaufort. Following closely behind were Tusch/Winkelmann and Marko Hasche/Philipp Behm of the Hamburg fleet. Kleine/Renner finished 8th in this race. At 1 pm the 3rd and last race of the weekend started. In the same wind conditions, Tusch/Winkelmann repeated their victory of the 1st race. Kleine/Renner finished 2nd and Pieper/Dretzko were third. At that afternoon’s awards ceremony, Tusch/Winkelmann not only took the traditional Ederkogge trophy home to their fleet but also won the donated Memorial Trophy in memory of Edersee sailor Uli Seidlitz. This trophy included three regattas this year at Baldeneysee, Möhnesee and Edersee. Second in the Ederkogge were Josef Pieper/Sören Dretzko. Freidrich Kleine/Arndt Renner were the top finishers from Edersee in 3rd place, Uwe Fernhola/Stefan Diestelmann were 4th and Marko Hasche/Philipp Behm were 5th. For the German Star boat sailor, all effort now is focused on the International Germany Championship in northern Germany on Lake Alster May 23-27 with 10 races, for which 61 crews are entered. In view of this large, soon to be sailed event, it is particularly pleasing for the Edersee Star boat fleet that 8 of the crews signed up for the championship came to sail here this weekend. |
