A field of 14 Star boats came to sail in winds of Beaufort 3-4 from SE to SW with sunshine and a temperature of 25° C. What more could a sailor want? As in past years a few foreign teams came to the event, arriving on Friday evening.

Saturday morning saw (Frank aka Tuschi) and his crew Sven rigging a new mast. This took longer than anticipated. While Tuschi still did not have his boat in the water, the rest of the entries were already at the starting line. But because of shifting winds and gusts up to 5 Beaufort the race committee had - fortunately for Tuschi - delayed the start time.

One of these said gusts led GER 7750 Jens Burmester to his doom. His boat was flattened on the water. It also caught Andreas Rohrbach GER 7668 with a broach. He had already finished the race and had to be towed to the crane.

Tuschi, cool as he is, led the regatta field from the start closely followed by Frieder Kleine GER 8301 Two races were sailed and Saturday ended with delicious grilled meat and a nice glass of beer.

On Sunday, there was a relocation of the start to the forest Ecker Basin, where two races was held under southerly wind at 2 Beaufort. For two days Tuschi dominated the regatta with Sven, followed by Frieder Kleine and crew Timo Sandrock. Third was Josef Pieper and crew Ralf Vockel.
