| The first event in the “Star Winter Series” took place Nov. 21-23 at Gaeta, a 4 race series organized to prepare for the 2004 World Championship which will take place April 22 – May 2. The technical level of the 15 teams participating was quite high, with the participation of the Italians Bruni-Vigna, Celon-Lambertenghi, Serneraro-Masturzo, Poggi-Stilo, as well as the Germans Koch-Koy and the Ukrainians Pichugin-Tornokhov. At the end of the 6 races competed in light winds, victory went to the local team of Simeone-Rocca, followed by the Germans Koch-Koy with Bruni-Vigna in 3rd. These races, organized by the Base Nautica Flavio Gioia in collaboration with I Circoli Velici, will provide practice and background for the logistics of the 2004 Worlds and offer interested sailors the opportunity to train at the regatta location. The next racing is Dec. 6-8, followed by Dec. 27-29, and finishes on January 30- February 1, |
