As you all may have heard, Lake Springfield's favorite son and last years winner, recaptured the Blue Star with 6 points out of a 5 race event. Tom "twinkle toes" Londrigan with Stewart Hall put on a great display in a regatta that was light on participation, 15 boats, but heavy on everything else. Day one - Friday was cancelled due to sustained winds of 20-25 with 35+ gusts. Not to be bored, the always thinking TL,Jr. came up with the idea to sail a Laser around a jybe course. It was great fun to do and to watch. Before the event there was a bit of betting to add to the incentive. The winner, Geoff Ewenson(Jon Vandermolen's crew) put on a great display of boat handling in high winds, probably aided by his "extensive" experience in the Finn.

Day two saw the winds settle down to 12-16 and the race was under way.The first race started with light air which quickly picked up to the 12-16 range. The winds shifted to the south with the increase in velocity but we finished the day with three good races and the regatta was at least official. As far as mishaps, we had a broken backstay and a broken tiller resulting in a death role with the crew losing the boat, but no major injuries or broken masts.
