12 boats started the race and a race of patience it was! It was calm outside of the harbor. In the end, the winner was our champion Alessandro ( Dino ) Pascolato and his bowman Henry (Magilla) Boening. Dino surpasses the legendary Walter Von Huetschler and is an achievement to even the former President of ISCYRA Peter Siemsen. The tradition of Siemsen family being present was upheld with Francis Bouillon Siemsen sailing 7772 and his crew Otto Assis. John King was betrayed by the wind at the entrance of Botafogo Bay. Darke de Mattos was showing the extremes. The victory of the Exalted Grand Master Dino firstly, and secondly, the joviality of Nicholas Grael who debuted as Junior in the Star class and replaced his father and left him standing in the yard made the Darke de Mattos a very special event this year. Jorge Bhering honored the Darke de Mattos family and finished with the 2nd place . Crewing for Jorge was the Olympic sailor José Augusto Dias Luderitz Barcellos (Guruga). The event marked the return of the sailors and Fabio Bodra, Luis Mosquera. Fernando and Felipe Ballesté won the class Black Star (sub numeral 7300) and also won class C.
