2013 Regata Carlos Sansoldo

Sailed at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Report by Lars Grael: The Star class rocked this weekend in Guanabara Bay.

Giving an idea of how the season will be the second half of 2013, we had nine good and competitive Stars racing. On Saturday, ICRJ organized the Regata Carlos Sansoldo, in homage to the late Starista of the club. Nine boats were on the starting line and it was a long way to round the buoy at the island Boa Viagem (Niterói) and then to sail to the South Mile buoy (São Gonçalo). Inconcsistent wind, strong ebbing tide, provided a feeling of a very long race along Ilhabela. At the end, a "tasty" wind allowed us to cross the finish line near the "pool" of ICRJ just 1 minute before the time limit.

In 2nd place were the team Dino / Maguila who had a big recovery, after clearing their premature departure. In 3rd place, Carlinhos Dohnert and Alex Kunze, who have been the most consistent participants in the weekend regattas.
