| Report by Witold Gesing: We had ideal racing conditions both Saturday and Sunday on Long Island Sound, off Larchmont, with north winds of 15-20 knots on Saturday and west winds of 12-18 knots on Sunday, warm air and water and sunny skies both days. The attendance in all classes was disappointing (too much baseball on TV?) with only 8 Etchells, 2 IOD's, 5 Shields, 5 S-Boats and 4 Stars racing. The 24 boats in all 5 classes made a large enough group that one did not feel lonely on the water. The quality of racing was very good, with 4 good races completed on Saturday and 3 on Sunday. |
