2014 Tomahawk Regatta

Fourteen boats sailed in light and variable winds at Lake Hopatcong, N.J. on Memorial Day weekend in the annual Tomahawk Regatta which was won by John MacCausland and Rick Burgess. This was Burgess' 48th straight appearance in the regatta and the first time he placed first. It was held in conjunction with an 80th anniversary regatta celebrating the charters of the Lake Hopatcong Yacht Club's Star and E Scow fleets. Sailors and guests were entertained on Saturday night with a clam bake and a presentation on the history of sailing at the club. The fleet's records indicate that dues in 1938 was $1.50.
