17 teams from four different districts arrived at the Seneca Yacht Club Friday to contest for the 2012 NYS championships.

Saturday morning we were treated to bright sunshine and 8 to 12 kts of wind NNW. This is a good direction for Seneca Lake and the race committee set a nice long windward/leeward course which was a two boat race between Cramer and Anosov which Cramer won in the last 200 yards. The race committee shorted up the course a little and took advantage of the great wind and sailed us another three races. So there we were sitting back at the club by 3:30, four races completed and enjoying Rob’s famous Rum Punch and telling stories about the days racing. The group then went to Jan and Rick Burgess’s for a BBQ and Fireworks display.

Sunday continued with bright sun and a gentle southerly breeze in the 5 to 8 range. The positions changed quite a bit but in the end it was the team of Ivey/Krakower taking the win. So with four firsts and a second this years championship was dominated by the team of Cramer/Lymburner who took home the big prize.
