2009 Argentine Nationals and Semana de Mar del Plata

The Buenos Aires Star fleet packed up and moved to Mar Del Plata, an incredible sailing venue located from the big city. Only 11 boats of our growing fleet could make it to the starting line on March 4th to 9th.

Seven race were held with winds from N to E 7 to 16 knots and big waves. Alejo Rigoni and Juanpa Percossi, 2008 District Champions and the young Spirit of the class took the championship by storm from race one, defining with MacGowan and Labandeira in the last race. The second pack of the fleet was led by Manija Perez who scored two bullets in a row on day three and had some bad luck on day four. The Della Torre Brothers had some good races too. Yacht Club Argentino and the Race Comitee leadered by Pro Kiko Kundig organized a nice event that will be repeated every 2 years.
