The Fixture
List (schedule of upcoming class championships) is
published for 2009. Also, the 2008-2009 winter schedule of racing
in Miami is available.
North American Championship
Thirty boats took part in the final
silver star championship of 2008 that was sailed at Harbor
Springs, Michigan, USA. Winning were John MacCausland and Kevin Murphy
District Championship Results
The
District 21 Championship, sailed at Dillon, Colorado, USA in
very windy conditions, was won by Tim Seeling and John Kidder.
The District
2 Championship winners were Peter McChesney and Shane
Zwingelberg, repeating their 2007 win.
The District
17 Championship was sailed on the Attersee, Austria, and won
by Hans Spitzauer and Tobias Harring.
Xavier Rohart and Brice Savignat won the District
9 Championship at Bandol, France.
National Results
In Germany, the Starfinale
winners were Tobias Schott and Peter Linke. The popular Oktoberfestregatta
on Lake Ammersee had 70 boats entered with Philip Rotermund and Nils
Hollweg the winners. The Kronprinz
Rupprecht Erinnerungspreis, sailed at Munich, was won by
Werner Fritz and Uli Seeberger.
In Austria, the Traunsteingams
regatta winners were Thomas and Martina Hopf.
In Geneva, Switzerland, the Grand
Prix de Versoix winners were Daniel Wyss and Urs Joss.
In France, Julia and Graham Bailey won the first race of the fall Star
season at Nice, Dot's
n' Dots, and then followed with another win at the second
race, the Trofeo
Acciuga al Cioccolate.
In Italy, the Carcano
Trophy was sailed at Mandello del Lario and won by the
Brazilians Alessandro Pascolato and Manuele La Porta.
At Rastaholm, Sweden, the GP
V-Hostrasta winners were Fredrik Ljungqvist and Daniel Alm.
The Open
Finnish Championship, sailed near Helsinki, was won by
Mathias Dahlman and Eki Heinonen.
The Dutch
Open Champions for 2008 are Alwin Van Daelen and Peter Peet
and the Gecombineerde
Wedstrijden regatta was won by Bart Schipper and Bob
Boeschoten.
In the USA on the east coast, the Bedford
Pitcher Trophy (Cedar Point Open) winners were Fotis and Evan
Boliakis. The Chili
Regatta at Senaca Lake was won by Kirk Reynolds and Dan White
and the Nutmeg
Regatta winners were John MacCausland and Kevin Murphy.
At Vancouver, Canada, Foss Miller and Stu Frost were the winners of the
English
Bay Labour Day Regatta and Fred Dill and Mike Wurm won the English
Bay Fleet Championship.
In eastern Canada, the champions
of the Flotte du Quebec are Andre Marcotte and Eric Croteau.
In Brazil, the Taca
Alberto Ravazzano was won by John
King and Luis Carlos Franca Simao and at Buenos Aires, Argentina, the Grand
Prix Luis A. Cerrato was taken by Jorge Perez.
