Star Worlds in Varberg, Sweden in August is published with
discrepancies for some entrants.
The 2009
for 2010 resolutions for changes to the class rules are
published - to be voted on at the World Championship in August in
Sweden.
Racing
Results of June 2009
Rolex
Baltic Week European Championship is ongoing. Reports
on the racing are provided by Andreas Kling for Rolex.
In Italy, the XLV
Trofeo Benetti winners were Enrico Chieffi and Manilo Corsi,
sailing at Viareggio. The 1st
Trofeo, a new race on Lake Garda, was won by Paolo
Masserdotti and Massimiliano Tassini.
In
France, the NIce fleet finished its racing season with the
Targa
Ribalda Regatta won by Jean-Gabriel Charton and Olivier
Terrol. The overall award for the season, the Trophee
Carlo Felice, went to Jacques and Jean-Francois Puissegur.
In Sweden, the 10th
District Championship / SWE GP III was won by Erik Dahlen and
Krister Karlsson
In Finland, the third Grand Prix race of the season, the
Anniversary
Regatta, winners were Joni Leeve and Asko Salminen who
repeated their win in the Helsinki
Regatta / GP IV.
In Germany, Mark Mendelblatt and Mark Strube won gold at Kiel
Week with Hamish Peper / Craig Monk taking silver and Iain
Percy and Andrew Simpson the bronze.. The Hammond
Perkin was won by Hubert Merkelbach and Uli Seeberger,
sailing on the Bodensee. On the Chiemsee, Gerhard
Weinreich and Peter Raasch won
the Maibock
and
Starnberger See winners of the Jo
Pankofer Preis / Volkhardt Preis / West Ost Preis
were Evald Koestler and Claus Feitzinger, who also won the STA fleet
championship
On the USA east coast, the Marshall
Brown Secretary's Cup on Massachusetts Bay was taken
by Ron Sandstrom and Charlie Hagedon. First
time Star Sailors competed in the Riverton
Yacht Club Governor's Cup (New Jersey) with Barbara Beigel
Vosbury reporting
on their experiences. On Long Island Sound, John MacCausland and Kevin
Murphy won the Arms
White Regatta (this was MacCausland's 14th win of the event).
In the American west coast, Paul Cayard and Austin Sperry won
the District
5 Championship / Baxter Bowl sailed at Newport Beach,
California.
In Canada, Terry Hofkircher and Jeffery Imai are the new Lake
Ontario Canadian fleet champions.and Brian Cramer and Matt
Johnston won the Montreal
Open.
