Dear Star Sailors,

We are at the end of the year 2003. This has been another very positive year for the Class. As in every year, we have had constructive, although sometimes strong, discussions but, if we look back, we can see the very encouraging development for our association along the past years. We can be confident about our future if we continue with the same positive, modern approach.

Today's world of sailing is developing quickly, changing radically from year to year, but we are still here: the Class where most of the top sailors want to be and the Class where the "weekend warriors" have fun and improve their skills in sailing at the same time. It is a marvelous mix, sometimes difficult to be balanced, but in the end very exciting: the key of the Class' history of success.

I thank the Officers and all of You for what you do for the Class. Do not think "Well... I'm just sailing the Star", because You "just" sailing a Star is the main reason that makes this Class so fantastic!

Happy New Year!
Riccardo Simoneschi
International President
