Dear Star sailors:

The Allianz Suisse Star Grand Prix is a series of seven Star Races in Switzerland where the total amount of CHF 35'000 is awarded as price money by our new class sponsor Allianz Suisse.

The Swiss Championship (11th to 15th of June) in Ascona, right at the Italian border (just a 1-hour drive from Folli or Lillia) will be the main event of this Grand Prix. You're all cordially invited to join us. We're expecting 40 to 60 boats from 6 to 10 countries.

The second big Race with 30 to 50 boats on the starting line will be the "Rostige Kanne" in Thun in July, a 3-day-race that got an ISAF Grade 3 for the world Ranking List. Lake of Thun has steady thermal winds between 12 and 22 knots.

All the details you find on our Grand Prix website including online-registration, online hotel-reservation, updated starting lists or webcams and the local weather forcasts.

Another race quite close to Italy is held in Brunnen in August (last year's Yngling Worlds were there), just a 2-hour drive from Como right on the northern side of San Gottardo. The thermal winds are normally between 15 and 25 knots. You find all the details on the Grand Prix Website.

The start of the Grand Prix will be on the Lake of Constance on 26-27 of April, just one week before the European Springs in Hungary - just for those of you who still need a little more practice....

For any further information please contact me. Hope to see you in Switzerland!

Best Regards,

Beat Stegmeier
