Casino Cup / STAR EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP begins April 13th
After two days (April 13-14) devoted to final registrations, launching procedures, and training, racing will start on Sunday, April 15 at Sanremo Yacht Club, Italy.
77 crews, coming from 19 Countries, will take part in the Championship, fighting for one of the most important sailing titles.
“Organizing a Star European Championship is always a very important job for everyone – Beppe Zaoli, the president of the Sanremo Yacht Club, said – but doing this in the Olympic year and with the participation of the most famous sailors of this class makes this event even more prestigious”.
The program is full with events. The official opening ceremony is planned on Saturday 14th at 6.30 pm, with the raising of the flag, with the participation of the young athletes of the Sanremo Sailing School.
Races will start on Sunday, April 15th; in the evening of the same day the cocktail party will take place at the Sanremo Royal Hotel while, on Tuesday evening, the Sanremo Casino will hold the half-championship prize awarding Gala. Races will last through Thursday, April 19th, and on the same day the final prize awarding ceremony will take place at the Sanremo Yacht Club house.
The Star European Championship – Casino Cup is organized in cooperation with the Circolo Velico Capo Verde and thanks to the support of Regione Liguria and Municipality of Sanremo. Sponsors of the event are Banca Carige, Slam, Portosole CNIS S.p.A., Sanremo Royal Hotel and CieloGioielli Milano 1914, which will confer a precious onyx, gold and diamond ring to the winner.
