Dear Fleet and District officers,
The delegate proxy form for the Annual Meeting 11 November at Tampa, Florida needs to be submitted to the central office by November 1st. Please be reminded that the Class rules state that each and every fleet be represented at the Annual Meeting. We hope to see you in person but understand if you cannot make it. Remember that you cannot appoint a Class Officer as your proxy.
The resolutions that will be discussed at the meeting are posted on the Star Class website. (http://starclass.org/PDF/2011for2012resolutions.pdf). Resolutions #3 and #4 are a little confusing and Tom Londrigan Jr will be on hand to explain the differences and hopefully show us some samples of the available compasses.
The 2011 Southern Hemisphere Championship is about to start. Eighteen most excellent skippers and crews will be in attendance in Rio de Janeiro for the event.
The 2011 North American Championship will take place next month and the entry deadline is October 24th. Don’t be late! If you would like to take your boat early to Tampa please contact Kat Malone at 813-842-0928 or sailingkitty@hotmail.com to make arrangements. Davis Island Yacht Club is excited to host this event and the officers and members look forward to seeing you there! PS. If you or any of your fleet members have trouble with the entry form, please have them contact me. Basically if they do not receive a receipt immediately, the form did not go through … the first clue it doesn’t work is that the form comes back up after you have hit the submit button.
Thank you everyone for a great year and all of the hard work each of you have put in for 2011. The coming years will certainly be economically challenging for all of us as well as the ISCYRA. The Officers and the Central Office will continue to provide support for all of our members as we ease into our second century of excellence!
